In 1859 the Prussian second lieutenant Karl Adolf baron Bachofen von Echt married Albertine, the daughter of Franz Xaver Bosch. After her father's death, Karl Adolf took over the guidance of the Nussdorfer Brewery. In the following years he expanded the enterprise, until Nussdorfer beer was distributed into all parts of the monarchy as well as being exported overseas.
This medal commemorates their 25th wedding anniversary.
