Bamberg is a town and archiepiscopal see of Germany, in the Land of Bavaria. The cathedral, a late Romanesque building, was founded in 1004 by the emperor Henry II. It features four imposing towers. The cathedral was later partially burned, and rebuilt in the 13th century. It contains the magnificent marble tomb of Henry II and his wife, the empress Cunigunde, the work of Riemenschneider.
