Antoine II, Duc de Lorraine 1489-1544) was the son of René II de Vaudémont, Duc de Lorraine and Philippine von Geldern. He succeeded to the title of Duc de Lorraine in 1508.

Renée de Bourbon-Montpensier (1494-1539) married Antoine II in 1515. They had six children, one of whom was François I, Duc de Lorraine. Another was Nicholas, Duke of Mercoeur (1524–1577) (see below).
