Duke Francois II de Lorraine was born in 1572 in Nancy, France. He became Duke of Lorraine in 1625 and died in 1632. He married Countess Christina Katharine of Salm in 1597.

Countess Christine Katharine of Salm was born in 1575 in Salm, France. She died in 1637.

One of their children was the future Duke Nicolas Francois de Lorraine.
